Proverbs is Wisdom Literature from the Old Testament. Solomon was known in his time as the wisest person in the ancient world. The Queen of Sheba travelled from her kingdom to hear wisdom from him in person!
Here are a few thoughts from this morning.
"Angry people stir up a lot of discord; the intemperate stir up trouble" (Proverbs 29:22)
Anger spells danger when we put a Di in front of it. We do well to remember that! Anger alienates and love draws people together.
"Make a clean break with all cutting, backbiting, profane talk. Be gentle with one another, sensitive. Forgive one another quickly and thoroughly as God in Christ forgave you" (Ephesians 4:31-32)
This word speaks to us so lovingly! How we need to hear the Spirit's voice deep in our heart that our whole being is empowered to shine brightly within us bringing that renewal into the open in service and praise to our amazing God! God created us to be vessels of love for relationships of rich encouragement to each other; as celebratory conduits passing on God's love to each other, in a rich sensitivity of savouring the grace of God we have together. It is an intimacy of the heart that fills every corner of our being and makes us truly alive and interconnected to each other as light spreading throughout the body of Christ. We one day will live and breath our intended essence. We will be a holy people united together with Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in perfect unity. We will never ever experience greater elation and joyful happiness and goodness as that. which He is bestowing freely upon us.
Ephesians 4:20-24 has this important word of God for all of us to hear and take deep into our heart. We are clearly called to clean house and commit to living a renewed life of worship to God and hold fast to the faith we have through the Spirit in Jesus! There is no room within us for living amidst the polluted rubbish heap of sin that was our habitat! No, what God has made clean and beautiful must be daily maintained through continually focusing our thoughts and actions by living in the presence of the Great I Am, our Father from all eternity and our King!
