Reflections on Retiring (Poems)
Updated: Jan 5, 2020
The season of my life has changed,
I no longer go to work,
I do not have a timetable,
No administrative problems lurk.
It is a very strange thing,
Not to go to school,
Six decades I have been there
Mostly it was cool.
What on earth am I to do,
Some gardening or woodturning?
Or something quite new?
I could now be learning
I myself could go and visit
Grandchildren and do some volunteering
Go out to lunch with my wife
Or on a holiday disappearing.
In time I will adapt
Days and months will fly away
I will be wondering why
There is no time in a day!
